Download FAQ

THE FILES IN YOUR DOWNLOAD

Download the files to your computer, not directly to a flash drive.

Once you have downloaded your files you will see that they are on your computer as a zipped folder. It comes as a zipped folder to help prevent damage in the file transfer (loss of information) and also to save space on our servers. This folder must be unzipped for use. If your computer is newer than 2000 you probably have a program already on it that can unzip the folder. If not then you will need to get one online. A Google search will supply many choices both free and otherwise. I use Stuffit, which is available for a reasonable price for both Windows and Mac systems.

  1. Before you unzip this folder for use I strongly suggest that you make a copy of it and save the copy to a secure location on your computer or to a flash memory stick as a backup for your files. We do not archive download files - after the initial download period of seven days or 2 downloads they are deleted from our system, so it's important you keep a copy in the event that something happens to your working copy.
  2. Now go back to the original zipped folder and unzip it to a storage location ON YOUR COMPUTER, do not unzip directly onto flash storage. This should be somewhere like another folder in your My Documents file where you can find your files easily. DO NOT put it in the same folder as your backup copy.
  3. Inside the unzipped folder you will find several files. You DO NOT need to put all of these on your memory card for transfer to your quilting system. Please see the list below for the proper files to transfer. The other files are for your use and information in your work.
    • For COMPUQUILTER transfer the .CMD or .CQP file.
    • For STATLER STITCHER transfer the .QLI file (if you get a .DXF file and no .QLI file in your folder please contact me and I will supply the updated file.)
    • For INTELLIQUILTER transfer the .IQP file.
    • For HANDIQUILTER tranfer the .HQF file.
    • For MY QUILTING ROBOT transfer the .MQR file.
    • For PC QUILTER transfer the .TXT file.
  4. Inside the folder you will also have a .JPG file that you can use for marketing, a README file that you should read prior to using your purchase, and a copy of the COPYRIGHT, which you should also read prior to using your purchase.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD

Click on the Log In button at top of page.

Sign in using the e-mail and password you created when you placed your order.

Greeting will change when you are logged in. Now click on My Account at the top of page.

In the centre of the page you will see Previous Orders. Click View on the one you want to download.

Order info will show and below that it will show the files that are available for download.

You only get two downloads per file - some have three, so do them one at a time and make sure the first is on your system before downloading the second or you may have problems.

If you have any problems downloading please contact us. Please note that we do not troubleshoot system issues only those pertaining to the actual pattern file.
